“ Books For Children” project at Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province has officially launched with Folk village festival

After a long-term preparation, “Books for children" project at Meo Vac, Ha Giang province has kicked off with “Folk village festival", successfully took place on 27/10/2018 with the participation of over 300 children in Can Chu Phin Commune, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province and mostly 50 volunteers from TH Group and SeABank.
The festival was organized with the desire to bring knowledge and dreams to children in the upland area in Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province, and to inspire them to discover the beauty of culture and folk villages in other localities as well as in Vietnam.
Talking part in the festival has provided them not only stories of folk village’s origin and the ways handcrafts are created, but chances to do handcrafts featured a specific folk village.
This event was in the launch of “Books for children” project in Meo Vac district with an aim of helping children widen their horizons, develop critical thinking skills and learning ability. At the festival, organizers and sponsors of the "Books for children" project donated 12,600 books to 33 primary and secondary schools in Meo Vac district. Throughout the school year 2018-2019, the project will continue to provide training to teachers, bring reading sessions to every single class, help children nurture their minds, build up knowledge to pursue their dreams and make them come true.
"Folk village Festival" was held at Can Chu Phin Secondary School in Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province.
The festival designed stalls of the folk villages to introduce to students, which includes: Dong Ho folk pictures, kites of Ba Duong Noi village, bamboo dragonflies of Thach Xa village,
“To He” of Xuan La village, etc.
The stall of Ba Duong Noi and Hue kites brought the famous kites. Thanks to the artisan, Mr. Nguyen Huu Khiem and Mr. Hoang Dieu from Dieu Hue Club, have instructed how to make kites and gave the festival colorful kites.

Two 8th grade female students of Can Chu Phin Secondary School with a self-made hand fan in Chang Son hand fan folk village’s stall in Folk Village Festival.
Food stall offered students questions of how to make special gifts such as “Che Lam”, “Banh Dau Xanh”, “Hanoi Banh Cha”, Ben Tre coconut candy, Siu Chau peanut candy. The reward for correct answers was to taste these special gifts!
Traditional games like rope jumping, bag jumping, robbing flags, can throwing and so on were brought to the Festival.
At the event, Mr. Pham Hong Phuc, The Chairman of Trade Union, a representative of TH Group presented 10 sets of gift, each including a box of milk and 500,000 VND, to 10 students in extremely difficult circumstances of Can Chu Phin Secondary School
At the end of the event, the big kite carried the dreams of the students in the sky of Meo Vac district. This is such a symbolic activity in order to give them a belief of nourishing their dreams.
