For Vietnamese Stature Foundation and BAC A BANK accompanied the commendation ceremony of the most excellent ethnic minority students in 2018

At the ceremony, VSF and BAC A BANK awarded scholarships to 50 outstanding students, winning the first, second and third prizes in the 2018 national excellent students' examinations, each with 1 million VND. A total of 166 ethnic minority students from 25 ethnic groups in 35 provinces and cities were commended this year. Of which, there are 17 students who won the national science and technology competitions in 2018; 94 students won prizes in the National Excellent Student Contest; two students got admitted to university, college, academy with score of 27 and above; 11 ethnic minority students from very few people ethnic minority groups  graduated high school and passed university entrance exams for the year 2017 - 2018; 42 excellent graduates from universities, colleges and institutions.

On the behalf of VSF and BAC A BANK, Mr. Truong Vinh Loi, Deputy General Director of BAC A BANK participated in the ceremony and received the certificate for the program sponsor. He shared: "With the principle of running a bank as a business stick with society’s benefit. So far, for human beings, BAC A BANK has been collaborated with VSF in a number of volunteer activities, mainly focusing on investing in education, especially in mountainous and ethnic minority areas. In the upcoming time, we will continue to work with our partners through charitable activities to bring happiness to the less fortunate and to help ethnic minority students, who overcame difficulties in life.

The program has drawn a lot of attention of the Party’s leaders and the State agencies. Mr. Truong Hoa Binh, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to the development of education and training as the top national policy. In particular, the development of education and training of ethnic minority and mountainous areas has always been an important policy in building the great national unity and sustainable development of the country. 166 ethnic minority students who were praised are creative, outstanding examples and prides of their families. Mr. Truong Hoa Binh suggested that all the Ministries, especially the Ministry of Education and Training and the Committee for Ethnic Minority, should promote a propaganda and raise awareness about the importance of education and training, the right to study and access of children equally, Education and Training basic and comprehensive renewal policies; the quality of human resources in mountainous, ethnic minority and mountainous areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions should be improved by developing and implementing policies; the capacity of education management staff and teachers,  teaching minority language should be updated and developed; business organizations, benefactors should be mobilized to support and create the best conditions for the development of education and training in ethnic minority areas.
