Joining hands to provide 86,400 semi-boarding meals for ethnic minority children in Cao Bang province

With the “Growing up with mountainous students” project each boarding meal not only fills the little tummies of young students but also quietly serves as a ticket that brings them to their second home - a place where they are cared for, loved, and where their first dreams are nurtured. These meals also bring peace of mind to their parents, knowing their children are well cared for at school. These meals also serve as a silent source of strength, sustaining teachers in their tireless efforts to bring the knowledge to  the high mountainous areas.

From these seemingly small actions, a journey overflowing with love has been written - simple, enduring and spreading over the years, especially at six schoolsites: Na O and Khau Noong (part of Thach Lam Kindergarten - Quang Lam commune), Ban La, Khau De, Sang Xoay and Lung Chang (part of Thai Son Kindergarten - Yen Pho commune).

Preparing for the 2025-2026 school year, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) is officially launching a fundraising campaign for the “Growing up with mountainous students” project. Our goal is to raise 480,000,000 VND  to continue supporting 240 ethnic minority children in Quang Lam and Yen Pho communes, Cao Bang province - where the meals not only help children grow up healthy but also serve as a motivator to attend school regularly and learn more effectively.

As of July 20, 2025, the project has received a total of 86,800,896 VND in contributions from TH School and 18 other individual and organizational sponsors. Therefore, the total amount needed to be raised is 393,199,104 VND.

For every 2,000,000 VND donated, one preschooler will receive approximately 360 free semi-boarding meals (including nutritious lunch and an afternoon snack) throughout one school year.

“Growing up with mountainous students” is a long-term project by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), launched in 2020, which aims to provide semi-boarding meals and improve learning conditions for preschool children in disadvantaged areas across Vietnam. After five years of implementation, the project has sponsored 354,602 meals for 1,235 preschool and primary school children. The total sponsorship value of the project has reached 2.35 billion VND, contributed by 247,328 donations from individuals, organizations and businesses.

Specifically, during the 2024-2025 school year, nearly 60,000 semi-boarding meals for these children were sponsored. Attendance rates at sponsored schools consistently reached 100%. Moreover, the children's physical development was remarkable, with each child averaging an impressive 3.3 cm in height growth and 1.9 kg in weight gain.
