Positive results for “Nutrition improvement project for disabled children in Cao Bang Province"

The project of Nutrition Improvement and Inclusive Support for disabled children in Cao Bang province in the 2018-2019 school year has been carried out in the last months.
In March, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) had a visit to update about the project “Nutrition improvement and Inclusion support for children with disabilities" at the Center for Rehabilitation and Inclusive Education for Children with Disabilities in Cao Bang
“44/70 children at this center are belong to poor households, therefore, they do not receive adequate nutrition care from their family. Studying at the center, the children have three meals a day, three glasses of fresh milk a week. Many among them gain weight positively. Children who are supplemented with enough nutrition have steadily increased by 2-3 kg in weight. Typically, some of them have increased 6-7kg. ”- Ms. To Thi Nga, Director of the Center commented on the effects of the project.
During 2018-2019 school year, VSF sponsors 3 cups of TH true MILK weekly for disabled students of the Center. This is a project under the framework of the School Milk program that VSF has implemented since 2015, accompanied by the National School Milk program.
Besides, the project also finances domestic water supply system; training course for staffs and teachers at the center and training course on child nutrition for caregivers at the beginning and the end of school year.
This project will be completed and finalized in June 2019.

10,000m3 of water was contained in two barrels is sufficient to provide and save water to prevent cutting off water supply in the area.
Children at the center are integrated educated through cultural lessons, exercises, physical therapy, 1-on-1 classes to practice living skills, sign language…
Nutrition for children is guaranteed with a diet consisting of 3 meals per day and 3 glasses of milk per week.
