Talkshow on "Online Fundraising: Sharing and Solutions"

As one of the presenters, the representative of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) shared the story "How did we do to succeed in the first phase of the Global Givings fundraising campaign?"

Through the symposium, VSF would like to contribute more experience in raising funds for the development organizations community as well as having more opportunities to learn from local and international friends.

At the talk, with the images and the real story about the fundraising model, etc, the speakers shared a variety of content, revolving around the themes: i) reasons, motivation to organize crowdfunding; ii) fundraising platforms, and advantages and disadvantages when selecting these platforms (eg Globalgiving, ideegogo, etc); iii) how to develop fundraising stories - based on the strengths and experience of the organization, on the needs of the community or on the "trend" of society. In addition, the speakers also outlined the strategies, tools and approaches to mobilize participation of each donor group, including group contributions, listing and promote the role of "fundraiser - champion" - people who understand and are ready to spread the campaign's information to the community, send thank-you letters as well as update project deployment progress and results to the donors.

One of the tips that many presenters appreciate is: When raising money, put yourself in the role of a narrator, inspiring people to know and work together to lead a meaningful life as oppose to asking for money.
