With the aim of supporting school nutrition for students in disadvantaged areas, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) and TH Group, in collaboration with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union, are implementing the “School Nutrition Meal Program” for the 2026-2027 academic year.

With a total sponsorship value of VND 12 billion, the program will be implemented in three provinces during the 2026-2027 academic year, providing nutritious meals and contributing to proper nutrition during children’s critical stages of physical and intellectual development.

The first activity of the program was launched in Vinh Long province, marked by the handover ceremony at Tan Hiep B Primary School. During this academic year, the program in Vinh Long will support school meals for students at three schools: Long Hiep A Primary School, Tan Hiep B Primary School, and Chau Thanh Primary School, with a total budget of VND 4 billion, covering 75% of meal costs (the remaining 25% will be contributed by parents). Students will receive lunch and afternoon snacks supplemented with TH true MILK fresh milk products.

Through the program, more than 900 students, the majority of whom are Khmer ethnic minority students in the local area, will have better opportunities to study and develop in a more supportive environment. As part of the handover ceremony, representatives of the participating organizations visited the school facilities and joined students for their semi boarding lunch.

“The meals at school have many dishes and are very delicious. During lunchtime, I get to sit and eat with my friends, so I feel very happy and can eat more,” shared Anh Thư, a first-grade student at Tân Hiệp B Primary School.

The semi-boarding model not only helps students have more nutritious meals but also reduces difficulties for parents. “Now we only need to take our child to and from school twice a day instead of four times like before. My child is eating better, so our family feels much more reassured,” shared Mr. Lu Van Sau, a parent of a student at Tan Hiep B Primary School.

Long Hiep and Chau Thanh are areas with large Khmer communities, with more than 80% of the population in Long Hiep Commune being Khmer people. Many students still face difficulties in accessing adequate nutrition. The school meal support program contributes to improving students’ nutrition, while also easing challenges for parents and helping students study with greater peace of mind throughout the school day.

Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Vinh Long province, affirmed that the local authorities would closely coordinate to ensure the support is implemented transparently and reaches the right beneficiaries, ensuring that every meal is delivered to students and contributing to better care for their health and development.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mrs. Le Thi Thuy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and President of the Vietnam Women’s Union - stated that the program aims to provide better care for students, especially those in disadvantaged remote areas and ethnic minority communities. Through the program, the shared responsibility of families, schools, and the wider community in caring for children will also be further promoted, helping students develop comprehensively in both physical health and intellectual capacity.
