For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, Bac A Bank and TH Group donate 46 billion VND to the Vaccine Fund for Covid-19 Prevention

On the evening of June 5, at the launching ceremony of Vietnam's COVID-19 Vaccine Fund with the participation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, Bac A Bank and TH Group donated VND 46 billion (equivalent to USD 2 million) to prevent the pandemic with the government.

It is another timely action of 3 units in parallel with previous activities, including: giving milk and healthy drinks with a total of nearly 3 million products, medical equipment and 2 ventilators - devices to support emergency treatment. The total value of gift-giving trips (including beverage products, medical equipment and donation to the purchase of vaccines) are up to VND 76 billion.

“We believe and highly appreciate the Government's efforts in preventing and controlling COVID-19 pandemic as well as maintaining production, business and economic activities. We, TH Group, Bac A Bank, and For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, many other businesses, organizations and individuals with our hearts and responsibilities for the health of the community, for the nation, determine to join hands with the whole country to overcome all difficulties, challenges and fight the pandemic," said Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang, Director of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation.

According to calculations of the Ministry of Health, Vietnam needs to buy 150 million doses of vaccine to vaccinate 75 million people with an estimated cost of over VND 25,000 billion which the central budget is responsible for about VND 16,000 billion. Over VND 9,000 billion is contributed by local authorities, businesses, organizations and society through the Vaccine Fund for Covid-19 Prevention managed by the Ministry of Finance.

The government determines that the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic takes time, so vaccination is the most effective solution.

Vietnam started COVID-19 vaccination from March 8, 2021, but only 1% of the population has been vaccinated so far. Minister of Health, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, said that Vietnam has ordered a total of 130 million doses of imported vaccines with delicate negotiation, and has made efforts to produce vaccines in the country. This will help the healthcare sector complete vaccination this year. This process needs the support of all people.
