It's no coincidence that in the remote villages of Cao Bang province, student attendance has consistently reached 100% in recent years. It is because, for these children, going to school every day is filled with enthusiastic expectation for:
- Nutritious lunches with rice, vegetables, meat, fish, even tubers and fruits that their families can't yet grow.
- In the afternoons, after waking from naps, they are excited to wonder what snacks await them: "bun", "pho", porridge, and more!
- And, of course, joyful playtime on new playgrounds or interactive lessons made livelier with the help of a TV.

These wonderful experiences are a gift from thousands of sponsors nationwide to the children through the “Growing up with mountainous students” project.

Launched in 2020, the project has now sponsored 1,235 preschool and primary school children with 354,602 semi-boarding meals. It has also witnessed these little saplings grow brighter and more brilliant each day.

At schools receiving semi-boarding meal support, attendance rates consistently remain at 100%. With regular schooling, 83% to 97% of the children have comprehensively developed in physical health, intelligence, language, and aesthetic appreciation. Furthermore, on average, each child has grown 2-4.2 cm in height and gained 1.7-3.1 kg in weight annually. Even more encouragingly, the malnutrition rate has significantly decreased to below 6%.

School facilities and learning conditions have also been upgraded each and every year.

At Khau Noong, Ban La, Sang Xoay, and Lung Chang school sites, new kitchens have been built and supplied with essential cooking utensils, helping to make meal preparation easier and more convenient, ensuring hot, nutritious, and hygienic lunches for kids to learn and play.

Living conditions at the schools have also gradually improved. Depending on the specific needs of each school, electrical and water systems have been constructed to maintain a more stable and safer rhythm for teachers and students.

Learning spaces at Khau De and Na O have also been enhanced with new TVs. As a result, lessons have become more vivid and engaging, making it easier for children to absorb knowledge and increasing their enthusiasm for attending class.

Notably, at Na O school, the outdoor playground has been renovated, becoming a "world of laughter" for the children. In this spacious, safe environment, they can freely exercise, develop physically, and play happily with friends and teachers.

These positive changes would not have been possible without the companionship of compassionate hearts. Sponsors can click HERE to support semi-boarding meals for children in high mountainous areas through the SUPPORT feature on For Vietnamese Stature Foundation's website.
