On July 26th, representatives from For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) attended the groundbreaking ceremony and gave 500 million VND sponsorship for the construction of a bridge to Khuon Luoi village (Ha Giang province). This bridge is about to bring socio- economic values, help improve locals’ life and assure children’s schooling.
Being more than 30 km from Viet Quang town in Ha Giang province, Khuon Luoi village is one of three extremely poor villages of Huu San town. Locals’ life are facing so many difficulties, especially in commuting. Than stream flows between Chien Thang village and Khuon Luoi village make Khuon Luoi village isolated from the outer part. The only temporary bridge across the stream for children to go to school is, by no means, safe, especially then raining season arrives.
When water level rises, the temporary bridge is submerged and Khuon Luoi village is totally isolated.
Leader Ban Van Phuc said: “In raining season, each season lasts about 4-5 days, the water level rises up to 2 meters, submerging the only temporary bridge and causing severe damage to people’s lives here. The rising water level made it impossible for teacher to arrive at school to teach 19 students from class 1 to class 3. Students in older class, however, cannot go across bridge, causing interruptions to schooling.

After researching, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), together with TH Group, sponsored 500 million VND to build a civil bridge at this village.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mrs. Tran Thi Nhu Trang, Director of VSF said: “Besides eliminating the stress of commuting for people here, the construction of the bridge will ensure the safety of children when going to school, which gives children more opportunity for better education and better future.”
Mrs. Tran Thi Nhu Trang, Director of VSF gave 20 gifts of fresh TH milk to children of disadvantaged families in the village.
