Reading Festival in Yen Thanh, Nghe An-Spreading and harbouring the passion for books

Three years after the reading festival was held by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), reading culture is still maintained and promoted in 20 primary schools for thousands of students in Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province.

Reading lessons and book-related activities such as Reading Festival, telling stories based on books, or competitions for good reading lessons in the district are still regularly held although students had to study online for most of the time due to the complicated situation of the pandemic. In particular, some schools have recorded some impressive numbers:

Hop Thanh primary school: 20 reading lessons/week, 23,380 reads/year.
Thi Tran primary school: 18 reading lessons/week, 21,805 reads/year.
Minh Thanh primary school: 16 reading lessons/week, 19,320 reads/year.

VSF is glad that the 130 bookshelves granted have contributed to igniting the passion for books among students, with the companionship of schools and teachers.

On April 21, VSF will continue to spread the reading culture to students in Van Ho district, Son La province through the “Adventure in the World of Books” Reading festival. More information about the festival will be updated on VSF’s fanpage and website.
