Mr. Tran Van Sang's family sells lottery tickets for a living. Normally, Mr. Sang and his wife ride an old bicycle from a rented room in Thu Duc University village to several markets to sell lottery tickets.
They have three sons, Trong, Dai, and Nghia, who are studying in Ai Linh aided school. When the school was opened, Mr. Sang had to carry them to school, which is about 4 kilometers away from his home, before he and his wife started working. The family once had an old motorcycle, but it was taken away by a creditor as they were not able to pay the debt.
The selling of lottery tickets has been seriously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The family has had to do without incomes for 4 months, and they have only lived on gifts and donations from sponsors. Through all these long and difficult times, the family of five, three of whom are children, relies solely on the support of the community to survive.
Mr. Sang's family is one of the 1,070 families to receive sponsors from For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Nghe An in the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that the support from VSF and other organizations and individuals will help the family overcome this difficult phase and soon return to normal life.
