Ms. Bui Thi Thu Tram's family relies on gifts and sponsors for living in the COVID-19 pandemic. She is always worried that her children might be hungry, so despite difficulties in travelling, she tries to get past checkpoints to find food for them.

Ms. Bui Thi Thu Tram is the single mother of three children, Gia Huy, Bao Huy, and Hoang Huy. Their father left last year without leaving any contact, forcing the four of them to struggle in a degraded rented room. The family relies on Ms. Tram's meager income of a sanitation worker.

In many months during the pandemic, Ms. Tram lost her job and has had no income. This puts her family in an extremely difficult situation as they have had to depend on gifts and donations. She is always worried that her children might be hungry, so despite difficulties in travelling, she tries to get past checkpoints to find food for them.

Gia Huy, Bao Huy, and Hoang Huy are students of Ai Linh Aided School. Bao Huy and Hoang Huy are in grade 10 and 4 respectively. Gia Huy is doing a vocational degree in Ha Noi thanks to a scholarship program to help alleviate financial burden for his mother.

Ms. Tram's family is one of the 1,070 families to receive sponsors from For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Nghe An in the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that the support from VSF and other organizations and individuals will help the family overcome this difficult phase and soon return to normal life.
