The closing ceremony of Phase 3 of "For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese Stature” project.

On August 17th, the closing ceremony of Phase 3 of “For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese Stature” project was held in Vinh Yen city, Vinh Phuc province.

Phase 3 of “For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese Stature” project was organized by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Vinh Phuc Trade Union of Industrial Zones, under sponsorship of TH Group, DKT International Inc., Golden Choice Co., Ltd with the trademark of NewChoice and OK and in collaboration of Hoa Linh Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd with Da Huong brand.

22 companies of 3 industrial zones in Vinh Phuc province have participated in the project within nearly 4 months ( from May 21st, 2019 to August 17th, 2019). Let’s take a look at some outstanding activities at the closing ceremony:

Mr. Nguyen Huy Viet- Brand manager of DKT International Inc. and Golden Choice Company awarded the first prize on the wearing condoms competition to the quickest and most precise team - Lam Vien Company. The wearing condoms competition helped to raise the workers’ awareness about birth control methods and sexually transmitted diseases prevention.

The closing ceremony was held successfully

Besides providing knowledge about nutrition, mental health and reproductive health, a highlight of “For Mother and Baby-For Vietnamese Stature” project - phase 3 is social marketing for safe, quality and affordable oral contraceptives (Birth control pills) and condoms to the workers at the industrial areas. It aims to help the workers ensure family planning, prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, thus stabilizing the happiness and the economy of family life. 

A total of 22 companies of 3 industrial zones including Khai Quang, Binh Xuyen, and Ba Thien were chosen to implement phase 3 of the project. Subsequently, after 4 months, phase 3 reached 4.260 people by the coaching and communication sessions (on nutrition, mental health, and reproductive health), mobile reproductive health clinics and the knowledge contest, increasing the total number of beneficiaries to 9.660 people after 3 years of implementation

Four companies including Koshei Multipack Vietnam, JAPFA, HJC Vina and Camsys Vina immediately responded to the social marketing program by freely distributing or subsidizing condoms for labors of their companies.
