“Every day when Phuong comes home, she always tells me that she ate two or three bowls of rice at school. Phuong just wants to go to class to eat delicious meals! " mother of Phuong - a student of Na O school site, Thach Lam preschool, Bao Lam District, Cao Bang Province shared.
On the first day of school, the whole class had a total of 37 children, Phuong was so small that the teachers had to ask her mother if she was old enough for school, or she misremembered the child's date of birth. On the day of admission, Phuong weighed only 9 kg. At first, she was shy, often cried and begged to go home. Until the school site prepared boarding meals for the children with many delicious and nutritious dishes such as meat, sausages, fish, eggs..., Phuong was very obedient and went to school more regularly even though it took nearly an hour to go to school. Especially after a year, she gained weight to 10.6 kg. Although this weight is negligible compared to the weight of other children, it is a process for Phuong to strive for.
Ms. Duong Thi Anh, teacher at Na O school site excitedly shared “Not only Phuong but also some of her classmates can eat 3-4 bowls. Looking at the children eating so well makes us really happy. Due to tortuous roads, and the difficult transportation of food, especially in the rainy season, teachers have to walk to transport the food to schools, but they will try their best to keep the children always happy and hopefully every meal will be a small motivation to encourage children to come to class regularly. ”
The project “Growing up with mountainous preschool students” is about to complete the first-year implementation. Boarding meals has been contributing to improving nutrition and living, studying conditions at school for hundreds of upland children.
For Vietnamese Stature Foundation believes that the success of the project comes from the cooperation of individual sponsors and units, the participation of authorities at all levels, the consensus of parents and boundless love of teachers! This is a great motivation for VSF to continue to implement more projects and programs to serve the community.
