Another semester for the children of Son Dinh Preschool (Van Hoa commune, Dak Lak province) has passed. In this semester, their days at school have become even more fulfilling and special as the Growing up with mountainous children project implemented by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) began its accompaniment and sponsorship of semi-boarding meals at the school.

This is the first year the project has been implemented at Son Dinh Preschool at the two school sites of Hoa Binh and Hoa Ngai. Previously, although the school organized semi-boarding meals, the cost was still a significant concern for many underprivileged families. This sometimes affected the children's regular school attendance.

Sharing the changes at the school, Ms. Truong Thi Hong, Vice Principal of Son Dinh Preschool, stated that the Growing up with mountainous children project has brought many positive changes for the children receiving meal sponsorship at the school. According to her, the support for semi-boarding meals has helped parents alleviate their worries when sending their children to school daily, thereby contributing to maintaining stable attendance. Regular attendance helps the children maintain their daily living and learning routines, creating a foundation for comprehensive development.

Ms. Nguyen Thi My Hoa, a teacher of the 35-year-old multi-age class at the Hoa Ngai school site, shared: “As the class teacher, I would like to send my sincere thanks to the sponsors for accompanying and supporting the semi-boarding meals for the children. The parents are also very happy that their children receive such great care and love.”

VSF hopes that the sponsored semi-boarding meals will contribute to building a solid foundation so that the children of Son Dinh Preschool can feel secure coming to class every day, learning joyfully, growing up healthy and enjoying a childhood true to their age.
