On 24/7/2020, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) had collaborated with Bac A Bank and the Nông thôn Ngày nay newspaper to begin renovation at Xuan Nha kindergarten in Muong An village, Van Ho, Son La. With new facilities including 2 additional classrooms, 1 washroom and 1 water tank, all children from 171 families in Muong An village will have a chance to attend school. The expected finishing date for the renovation is before September 2020.
The representatives of Van Ho district, Department of Education & Training of Van Ho district, VSF and Dan Viet newspaper began renovation in Xuan Nha kindergarten, Van Ho district, Son La province.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan - Party’s Committee Secretary of Van Ho district, Mr. Vu Thanh Hai - Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Van Ho district, Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang - Director of VSF, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoai - Deputy editor-in-chief of the Nông thôn Ngày nay newspaper/Dan Viet newspaper, Ms. Bui Thi Hue - Vice President of Xuan Nha kindergarten and guests, parents and students in Muong An village (Xuan Nha commune).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vu Thanh Hai - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Ho district, stated: "This is a very meaningful work which creates opportunities for preschool students to have a safer, more friendly and adequate learning environment. The attention and facilitation to the school building renovation of the Dan Viet newspaper and the VSF is a great source of encouragement for the school to promote good teaching and good study."
Xuan Nha is one of three extremely difficult communes of Van Ho district, Son La province. Located 40km to the West of Van Ho district center, it is in the Vietnam-Laos border area. Muong An village school site is in region III, 10km from the center point via a mountain slope. Currently, Muong An village has 171 households of Thai & Muong people, of which 64 (731 people) are in poverty.
All children in Muong An village will attend school when the renovation process is completed.
In the 2019-2020 school-year, there were 83 local students, including 70 children of school-age. However, the current school facilities (2 classrooms) allowed only 51 students to attend. The remaining 19 preschools and kindergartens had to stay home. Additionally, the lack of toilet facilities - a house made of wooden planks and a small tank of water has been temporarily used - caused inconvenience to teachers and students.
By understanding the difficulties in Muong An school, through the 2019 trip in "Green living, responsible living" program, VSF had called for funding from Bac A Bank and collaborated with Nong thon Ngay nay newspaper/Dan Viet newspaper to begin renovation before the 2020-2021 school year.

Attending the ceremony, Ms. Đ.T.S. - a resident in Muong An village, has happily shared: “My family has 2 children, the oldest child could go to school, while the younger brother had to stay at home because the school did not have enough classrooms. Knowing that the school is expanding its facilities, I am very happy that my child will attend school with his peers soon!”
The renovation is expected to be completed on the eve of the next school year, increasing the number of classrooms to 4 classrooms and also a well-built toilet with a water tank will help to improve the accommodations in school. Not only helping all students in the village go to school, the new school site will also motivate teachers to continue teaching in the Northwest region of Vietnam.
Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang - Director of VSF has delivered her speech at the ceremony.
“With a total investment of nearly 600 million VND, we hope that this project will bring a better learning environment and better conditions for upland students to pursue their education. In the future, they will become supportive citizens of society; thereby helping local people to escape from poverty and gain their wealth sustainably "- Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang, Director of VSF has delivered her speech at the ceremony.
As a social-charity and non-profit fund with a mission to improve the physical strength and mentality of Vietnamese children, VSF has the same vision as Bac A Bank in its charity and development activities, including civil work construction in areas of poverty to support children in their educational activities. The project in Muong An continues to serve the mission of the two units when helping children in the village have the best learning conditions, helping parents to focus on doing business, contributing to economic stability in the region, in general, and the family, in particular.
