Open Letter “Charity Fair” - Fundraising for program “Milk For Children Under Chemotherapy”

    Dear benefactors,

Milk is a necessary source of nutrition for the physical and mental development of children. From 2014 to now, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) has launched and sponsored tens of millions of milk glasses to kindergarten and elementary school children in the School Milk Program - For Vietnamese Stature.

During the course of operation, we realized that it is essential to have more donation and giving away activities in order to bring milk to disadvantaged children, not just the poor students in schools but also children in many other difficult circumstances. "Charity Fair" – a fundraising activity for the program “Milk For Children Under Chemotherapy” is organized to achieve that aim.

Visiting the children with cancer, we can not help feeling heart-rending seeing them suffer from fatigue after each chemical transfer session due to toxins building up in their bodies. The only foods that do not make them feel sick in their stomach and vomit are plain white rice porridge, white rice with crushed sesame, peanut and salt and fresh milk.

Recognizing that, we are more aware of the important role of milk in improving the children’s health condition. Since May 19^th, 2018, VSF would start to sponsor to the program“Milk For Children Under Chemotherapy” initiated by charity group “Porridge for Child Patients Binh An" at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT).

There are an average of 300 child patients who are under chemotherapy. Every week, we would like to bring a child patient at least one pack of TH True Milk (110ml) at the price of 20,000 VND/pack. Therefore, for 300 children, this activity requires a budget of 6,000,000 VND per week, equivalent to around 24,000,000 VND per month.

To accomplete this mission, VSF calls on individuals and organizations to collectively contribute to the program through “Charity Fair”, took place fortnightly on Thursday on VSF’s Fanpage Facebook.

At Charity Fair, everyone is warmly welcome to join as A Giver who donates new products or old ones in good condition, or as A Donor who buy products from Givers to donate money for milk sponsorship for children with cancer. VSF will take the role of coordinator and take full responsibility for usage and report of the fund.

 “Charity Fair” will be held as follows:

1. For Givers: Givers support the program by donating their one or more new products with intact labels or tags especially for consumer goods such as food, cosmetics, clothing, footwear, accessories, handbags). Givers can also donate old products with high usage value, for example:  furniture, sports equipment, baby supplies , household appliances, etc.

Givers send their phone number and donating products information including: two (02) images, origin, status (old - new), original cost (if any) and appropriate selling price to email: lienhe@vitamvocviet.vn, titled "Raising Fund for Milk for Chemo-treated Children". Requirements: Real and clear pictures of the products.

2. For Donors: Support raising funds for the activity by purchasing one or more products from the Givers.

The Donors choose to buy items posted on VSF’s fanpage every two weeks on Thursday. VSF will link the donor's contact information with the buyers to carry out product delivery immediately when receiving a payment transfer through account:

3. VSF will collect products, publish products’ information and search for Givers and Donors through VSF’s fanpage. At the same time, we will provide contact information so that the process of buying, selling and delivering the products is made smoothly between donors and buyers within 48 hours from the time of payment.

4. People who do not choose donating or buying fundraising products can directly support the program by money transfered through account:

In the Charity Fair’s form of activities as the forgoing, VSF aims to connect and create a community of benefactors with active and specific activities as well as to call for greater support from whole community for this meaningful activity.
