Positive results of Project "Growing up with mountainous preschool students" - School year 2021-2022

School year 2021-2022, thanks to the support of sponsors, the last school year has continued to be a meaningful school year for 188 ethnic minority students in Bao Lam district, Cao Bang province. Not only do the children enjoy sponsored nutritious semi-boarding meals, ameliorated learning environment, but they are also encouraged to go to school with meaningful gifts.

In the second year of project implementation, at 5 school sites Khau De, Sang Xoay and Ban La (Thai Son Preschool); Khau Noong and Na O (Thach Lam Preschool), the project “Growing up with mountainous preschool students” continued to:

- Sponsor 55,352 semi-boarding meals for 188 preschool students, including lunch and afternoon snacks with a varied seasonal menu to ensure nutrition for children. (Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, provisions of meals at the school sites were interrupted during school closures. Hence, the number of semi-boarding meals is in fact lower than expected).

- Present: 01 refrigerator to Na O school site, 01 water purifier to Ban La school site; playground fence to Na O and Khau Noong school sites; 03 water tanks to 3 school sites Ban La, Khau De and Sang Xoay.

Give 188 end of school year gifts to 188 students. Each gift package includes a school backpack, a pair of rain boots, school supplies, milk and candies to encourage them on their journey hiking the mountains to go to school.

With the above activities, the project has obtained very positive results:

- 100% of children go to school regularly and are eager to go to school every day. Thanks to regular school attendance, children's physical, language and cognitive development has improved remarkably.

- Over 90% of preschool students have gained weight and increased height. The children gained an average of 1.7kg in weight and 2.9cm in height after a school year.

The success of the project is owing to the contributions of Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (BAC A BANK), MoMo e-wallet, Umbalena reading application and other 100 individual sponsors. Vietnamese Stature Foundation would like to thank the sponsors for their interest and companionship in the project "Growing up with mountainous preschool students".

It is expected that the project will continue to raise funds for the new school year 2022-2023 from mid-July 2022.
