Do you remember 4 children at Xuan Phu Social Center who receive sponsor from VSF to participate in the "Football for Hope" Festival in Russia? All of them are truly exemplary role models of fortitude and resilience in life. Therefore, today, we would like to share a little about their stories to you
The 4 children are happy in "True Happiness"shirts that were gifted by VSF
Doan Thi Huong (D.O.B July 26,1999) unfortunately lost her father when she was young. All burden was put on her mother's shoulders. Although trying to do more work, her mother still can not afford to raise three children, Huong's brother had to lean on Buddhist temple's help. Shortly after that, Huong and her sisters were adopted by the Xuan Phu Social Center. "Living in the love of everyone, I have grown up a lot, I have confidence in myself and live a joyful life like many others in the Center." She also worked and study hard, now she is a student at the Hue College of Art, major in Graphic Design.

Ha Danh Du (D.O.B February 26, 2000), a small but very nimble boy has to go through a difficult time to beg for food and money from Dong Ba market, An Cuu market to Tay Loc market with his father to survive. His mother is not conscious like normal people but still have to go with her brother to make ends meet. However, his relatives do not want to help, even denied them because of the circumstance of her mother. He has no chance to go to school and have fun like his peers, even had to go into An Hoa police custody with his father and taste the harsh life. Soon after, his father died because of illness and his mother was not accepted by the family so she wandered here and there. Since adopted by Xuan Phu Social Center, Du has been growing up a lot. He regularly helps the children and assists his teachers in the center; and achieved outstanding achievements in studying and extracurricular activities

Le Thi Ngoc Anh (D.O.B November 21,/2000) grew up in a difficult situation shortly after the 1999 historic flood washed away all the family's assets. Unfortunately, lightning struck her mother while she was working in the field. Her sixteen-year-old sister had to leave school to earn money to support her familiy. Anh also had to do field work with his father outside school hours. Life is too hard and difficult for her family. Luckily, Anh was admitted to the Xuan Phu Social Center to live and study with his friends and teachers there. In addition to studying well, Anh also actively participate in sports activities in the center and schools such as football, swimming, playing music, painting. She has a special passion for football: "Football is a sport that is easy to play for us. Every afternoon, after school, the children gathered to play football in the yard happilly. Now the Center has a new playground, so playing football no longer causes leg pain as before."

The story of Truong Dinh Hoang (D.O.B April 26, 2001) is also very unhappy when he witnessed his father passed away painfully. His father suffered from a neurological symptom when he returned from military service and the illness was getting worse. While unable to control himself, his father poured gasoline on and burned himself. After 6 months suffering from pain with severe burns, his father died. Hoang said: "Those sad memories about my father forever I can not forget. After my father died, my mother had to sell the house to pay off debts, my whole family had to sleep under bridges or in markets." After some time, her mother decided to work far away from home. Her grandmother tried to sell buns, cakes to let him go to school. Shortly after, when his situation was known by the Xuan Phu Social Center, he was admitted to this center. He actively takes part in sport activities and shares with us the difference between competitive football and non-competitive football: "When playing football with friends in school, I always hold a desire to win. But when playing with my friends in the center or join the fun football festival organized by FFAV, we participate with a very comfortable spirit, as long as you enjoy playing, winning is no longer important."
