This workshop is organized by the Institute of Strategy, Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE); Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade and Expertise France (EF). The objective of the Workshop is to consult with the parties about building a Retail & Consumption Alliance to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags in supermarkets and changing consumers’ behavior in increasing the use of reusable bags.
At the Workshop, in ISPONRE's presentation - Ms. Kim Thi Thuy Ngoc, Head of Science and International Cooperation, shared about the cooperation plan with For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) with the following 2 main contents:
Connect and mobilize resources to promote the use of reusable bags
Develop and implement communication programs on the harmful effects of plastic waste, especially disposable plastic bags.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Hoang Viet - representative of the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) also mentioned the cooperation between IDH, ISPONRE and VSF in the coming time to support the retail industry to reduce single-use plastic bags.
VSF attended the workshop as a non-profit organization with a mission to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the goals of education, health, equity and sustainable development. At the same time, VSF is currently a member of the National Coordination Group of Vietnam Business for Environment (VB4E).
