The seminar “Equality Story - Youth’s perspective”, hosted by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), had taken place on April 6 with the participation of 40 ethnic minority youths from 14 communes in Van Ho district (Son La) and 21 journalists/ communication officers from many press agencies like VTV, VOV, Tien Phong, Dan Vietj, etc. and communication officers from development projects.
This seminar was held immediately following the training course "Youth and gender equality" which is within the framework of the "No voice - No equal future" project. At the seminar, Mrs. Tran Hong Diep - Deputy Director of VSF shared the results of the training course and introduced 4 exhibition corners with 4 themes selected by 40 youths, performed via many creative forms such as pictures, improvisational comedies, etc. During the two exhibition sessions, youth had given their insights, opinions, and solutions about child marriage, value man over woman, child sexual abuse and domestic violences to 21 journalists/communication officers.
Thereby, journalists and communication officers had the chance to exchange and comment on the ideas/solutions/ plans about reducing gender inequality. Through networking and sharing activities with reporters and officers, the seminar offers the youths in Son La the chance to be inspired and encouraged to become the change maker.
"We are not only impressed by the confidence and proactiveness of the youths, but also by their sharing and passionate preparation through extremely creative products," Ms. Khieu Thi Linh Huong (VTC1) shared after two exhibition sessions.
VSF also made its official announcement at the seminar regarding the sponsorship packages for community initiatives under the theme "Equality Story: Youth's Voice.", with the aim to call for the promoting equality proposals and initiatives from the youths who had joined in the “No voice - No equal future” project’s activities.
