VSF gave 2000 gifts to the poor on Lunar New Year occasion

On the evening of January 26th 2018, VSF on behalf of sponsors gave 2000 gifts (equivalent to 1 billion VND) to “Tet for the poor – 2018” Program in Nghe An. The program was held by the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front of Nghe An with the desire to bring a warm New Year to the poor.

Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang – Director of VSF was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit of the People's Committee of Nghe An province for VSF and TH Goup having made excellent achievements in social security and support for “Tet for the poor- 2018” Program in Nghe An province.

At the ceremony, VSF awarded 1 billion VND (equivalent to 2000 gifts) to poor families in the province. This is a practical response to the annual appeal of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Nghe An province to help the poor to welcome the Lunar New Year. All the funds were raised from the sponsors such as Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank, TH Group, Nghe An Sugar Joint Stock Company.

Through VSF, the stakeholders have always supported the social charity activities, especially the “Tet for the poor” Program, to help disadvantaged people have a warm and cozy Lunar New Year holiday in many places nationwide. On average, each year through VSF, about 3,000 to 5,000 gifts, equivalent to 1.5 to 2.5 billion VND, have been given.

In 2017, Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank, TH Group and Nghe An Sugar Company, through VSF, awarded 2,500 gifts worth 1.7 billion VND for disadvantaged families in Nghe An province.

Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang - Director of VSF presented 1 billion VND to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to support poor families of Nghe An for a cozy Lunar New Year holiday.

Also in the program, the audience shared and sympathized with some emotional stories. One courageous woman - Ms. Ha Thi Minh in Hong Yen village, Nghia Hong commune, Nghia Dan district, Nghe An – has had to be the breadwinner in place of her husband for 10 years. Another story concerned Mr. Dang Ba The's in village 4, Phuc Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An. Mr. The and his wife both carried diseases. Unfortunately, after he escaped from being bedridden, his wife faced colorectal cancer and died a few months ago. The lives of their sons, Vinh and Hanh, are in the balance, as they risk having to leave school.

The only hope of Mr. Dang Ba The - Phuc Son commune, Anh Son district is to be able to help his family face fewer difficulties and for his children to be able to go to school.

In the program, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee responded to the appeal letter of Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh about support for "Tet for the poor – 2018” and asked for everyone to join together to help poor people in Nghe An to have a warm traditional New Year.

The program also praised and honored 16 agencies, units and enterprises supporting the program in 2017, including VSF, TH Group, Bac A Bank and Nghe An Sugar Company.

Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang - Director of VSF said: "On behalf of VSF and other sponsors in TH Group, I would like to thank Nghe An Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee for organizing this meaningful program, a bridge for us to join together with the “Tet for the poor” program in the spring of 2018.”

Specific, practical social activities are done in a way that is consistent with the business strategy of not maximizing profits but maximizing the benefits, for sustainable development for the community.
