14 families affected by Typhoon Yagi in Yen Bai province move into their new homes

After months of staying with relatives, 14 families in Yen Bai have finally returned to their newly built, sturdy homes. These houses were rebuilt or repaired with the support of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), thanks to contributions from 60 individuals and organizations.

“The storm completely destroyed my house. My family had to stay with relatives for a while, which made daily life very difficult,” Mr. Dao Van Duong from Van Yen district, Yen Bai province.

Typhoon Yagi left behind severe destruction. Homes were damaged, lives were disrupted, and families were left struggling without a safe place to return to.

For these 14 families, moving into their new homes is a huge relief. Now, they finally have a stable place to live and can focus on rebuilding their lives after the disaster. The new houses are built to be strong and secure, with sturdy brick and wood walls, durable metal roofs to prevent leaks, and solid doors and windows to withstand harsh weather.

This housing support project was made possible through a fundraising campaign by VSF to assist families affected by Typhoon Yagi in Yen Bai. In just 15 days, the campaign successfully raised 460,315,000 VND from 60 individuals and organizations. Along with 49 million VND remaining from a previous relief effort that provided emergency supply kits, the total fund reached 509,315,000 VND.
