In June, 188 poor families in the communes of Keo Lom, Pu Nhi, and Chieng So in the district of Dien Bien Dong in the province of Dien Bien moved into their new, large, sturdy homes. The For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) and BAC A BANK worked together to renovate and improve these homes, which cost a total of 10 billion VND.

In particular, as a result of this program, 188 low-income households in three communes had their deteriorating thatched-roof homes upgraded to more permanent structures. People in the communes can now live in larger, safer homes as a result of repairs and use.

Take a look at these pictures to see how some homes have changed since installing VSF:

VSF and BAC A BANK have collaborated on this project in order to fulfill the request made by the Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province, the Ministry of Public Security, and the State Bank to work together on the construction of housing for the less fortunate.

As a mountainous province bordered by numerous difficulties, the number of poor households in Dien Bien province has risen to 25,000, or nearly 30 percent of the total number of households in the province; many of these households reside in temporary, dilapidated, or dilapidated houses. This worthwhile endeavor is part of an effort to promote the socio-economic development of the Dien Bien Dong district and Dien Bien province as a whole.
