Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Huy Khanh, Director of BAC A BANK Son La, representing TH Group, BAC A BANK, and VSF, shared:
“Seeing these completed projects now in use, we realize that we are not only building restrooms but also creating better learning environments. This allows students to focus on their studies and grow comprehensively.
We hope these new restrooms will provide comfort and safety for students every day at school. This also reflects our long-term commitment to supporting teachers, students, and the education sector in general.”
These 20 restrooms are part of the project to build 1,000 school restrooms under the program “Wishes for Children.” This program calls on the community to join hands in supporting students and teachers in disadvantaged, remote, and ethnic minority areas.
Yen Chau district is a mountainous and border area of Son La Province. The newly built restrooms are located in 9 communes: Chieng Dong, Phieng Khoai, Chieng On, Long Phieng, Tu Nang, Yen Son, Chieng Tuong, Sap Vat, and Muong Lim.
These communes are classified as especially disadvantaged, highland border areas where ethnic minorities make up over 85% of the population. Economic conditions and infrastructure, including school facilities in these areas, are still far below the average level of the district.
The new restroom projects will help improve students’ health and provide them with a sense of security while studying. They also aim to inspire and attract resources from the community to invest in children, contributing to building friendly, healthy, and active school environments.
Additionally, in Son La province, VSF and the Department of Education and Training are speeding up the construction of 9 other school restrooms to ensure they are handed over and put into use in the first quarter of 2025.
