Closing Day of “Happy School” Project in Lao Cai

- The games are super thrilling, suspenseful and there are even gifts!

- My most favorite games are Team Hunting and Secret Words because there are many teammates to play with!

- I have participated in the “Autumn Camp” before but this event is much more fun, we are so happy!

At the festival, 10 activities were organized to nurture the passion for reading, equip the knowledge of gender equality, and encourage exercises for children on the school’s campus. In addition, a wall newspaper writing contest was also held for the "Rising Journalists" of Ban Lau School with 08 works from 40 students.

The topics of the works were diverse, ranging from gender equality, environment protection by waste collection, clean water and sanitation, etc. which showed the creativity and positive changes in students’ awareness after training courses of the project.

The First Prize went to the work named “Green Dream” by a student group from 2B class, which was about their wish that the Earth is always green, the water is not polluted with trash, and the trees are not cut down so as to not affect human lives.

On the same day, the parties inaugurated the repair items of 03 degraded classrooms, playground, and drainage system and built a new toilet at the Na Nhung school site of Ban Lau Primary School.

This is the first year the “Happy School” project has been implemented in Lao Cai and Son La with funding from TH Group and BAC A BANK. In Lao Cai, besides the reparation of schools, VSF implemented 03 training courses on gender sensitivity in teaching for teachers, school counseling and positive discipline; 04 communication sessions and training for students on gender equality, clean water and sanitation, and communication skills to make wall newspapers.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, Director Nguyen Van Khoa of the Lao Cai branch of BAC A BANK said: “Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank, TH Group, and For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) have accompanied each other in social welfare activities for many years. This is the next activity to realize the mission of the parties on the journey of community development.”
