What impressed me most during today’s training session was the opportunity to practice applying the 6C Strategy in designing a lesson, helping create a more positive and engaging learning environment for students.”

That was the reflection shared by Ms. Nguyễn Thị Trinh, a Physical Education teacher at Thi Tran Primary School, after being introduced to the 6C Strategy—an approach that supports teachers in designing effective PE lessons that encourage students to be confident, proactive, and enthusiastic about physical activity.

The 6C Strategy in physical education includes:

  • Confidence: Encouraging students to believe in their abilities.

  • Contribution: Involving students in shaping the lesson.

  • Celebration: Motivating through both achievement and effort.

  • Choice: Giving students autonomy in how they participate.

  • Clear/Concise: Providing instructions that are simple and easy to understand.

  • Connection: Creating a positive, supportive, and friendly learning environment.

With these principles, teachers can design lessons that inspire and empower students to take greater initiative in physical training. This approach also aligns well with the 2018 Primary Physical Education Curriculum issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

During the training session, teachers had the chance to apply the 6C Strategy by collaboratively designing a PE lesson. Real-life classroom scenarios were also brought up for discussion, allowing teachers to exchange experiences and improve their flexibility in handling classroom challenges.

The training session on Physical Education and School Sports, alongside Positive Discipline in Schools, is part of the broader Happy School Project. The 2024–2025 academic year marks the third year of this project, which aims to enhance the quality of education for students in mountainous areas and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
