This activity is part of Phase 4 of the Happy school project, implemented by VSF, TH Group, and BAC A BANK to build a safe, respectful, and equitable educational environment.

All teachers explored the concepts of Gender and Sex, and identified common gender stereotypes that still exist in families, schools, and society. Together with trainer Le Xuan Dong, a gender specialist, teachers held lively discussions on the impact of stereotypes not only on women and girls, but also on men and boys, an issue that is often overlooked.

The atmosphere became even more engaging when groups participated in a debate session around two familiar beliefs: “Only sons can carry on the family line” and “Men make better leaders than women.” Through honest discussions and heartfelt sharing, each participant developed a deeper understanding of gender equality. That is, all students, whether boys or girls, deserve equal opportunities to develop their abilities and qualities.
The experiential activity “The river of life” also left strong impressions, helping teachers recognize how gender stereotypes influence daily life, and inspiring them to rethink their approach to teaching and interacting with students.
Beyond awareness, teachers worked together to develop specific action plans to promote gender equality in the school, including integrating gender perspectives into lessons, reviewing textbook content, organizing thematic sessions, and extracurricular activities for students.
Tomorrow morning, more than 400 students at Nghia Loi Primary School will also participate in a communication session on gender and gender equality, continuing the journey of positive change planted by their own teachers!
Let’s look back at the memorable moments from today’s training workshop!
