The communication session on reproductive health care during puberty for women and mothers with children in puberty was held by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) and the Women's Union of Hai An district (Hai Phong city) on the afternoon of October 6, 2022.

This is an activity within the framework of the Project "For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese stature” in 2022 and the campaign “Knocking on the door of adolescence”, jointly implemented by VSF, Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, and Hoa Linh Pharmaceutical Company with companionship of TH Group.

At the communication session, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Tam - reproductive health expert shared basic knowledge about the psychology and physiology of puberty, the role of grandparents and parents in taking care of adolescent reproductive health as well as skills to help them get close to their children during puberty and adulthood for nearly 150 members of the Women’s Union in Hai An District.

One of the participants in the media, Ms. Le Thi Hoai, who has a child in puberty, said: “Until now, I and my child rarely talk and share. Partly because of my lack of knowledge, partly due to me being afraid of such ‘taboo’ issues, we have never talked about taking care of her reproductive health. But today, thanks to information and useful skills of experts, I am encouraged to be my child’s friend and support her in taking care of her reproductive health. Now I feel more confident to talk with her.”

At the end of the communication session, attendees received additional useful gifts such as OK condoms, New Choice birth control pills, Da Huong feminine hygiene solution, and some other personal hygiene products sponsored by Pharmaceuticals Hoa Linh and Golden Choice.

In the coming time, activities within the framework of the “For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese stature” project and the campaign “Knocking on the door of adolescence” will continue to be carried out in Ha Nam and Vinh Phuc province.

In addition to face-to-face communication sessions, mobile health check-ups and consultations, financial support for workers affected by Covid-19, etc., the project also provides online consultation services about reproductive health - sex, nutrition and mental health.
