This subject has received lots of attention from parents, especially mothers of children between the ages of 1-5.
Parents need to make sure that their kids are hungry to focus on eating. This means that before the main meal, parents shouldn't feed their kids a handful of snacks or soft beverages. Additionally, keep snacking time apart from the main meal. The child will no longer care whether or not they watch TV or use the phone if they are hungry.
When parents initially learn to break this behavior, they should allow their children to eat while watching TV or using a smartphone for 5 minutes before turning it off (smartly, gently coaxing the child). Parents can continue to politely encourage the child to eat more if they notice that the child is cranky because they are not eating enough, but they should not let them watch TV.
Meals should only last about 30 minutes.
Parents should also set a rule with their children that when eating, they are not allowed to watch TV or mobile phones. If the children still want to watch, when the meal is finished, it will be open for them in a certain period of time.
Family members, especially the primary caregiver must eat meals with children and refrain from watching television. The menu for children should constantly change and include a variety of foods in the dishes. Children can only fix the habit of eating while using their phones or watching TV this way.
