The "Connecting and Sharing" seminar, a highlight of the Scarlet sails project organized by the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) in collaboration with BAC A BANK, took place last weekend.

“What I found most meaningful during the seminar was the discussions related to gender. I believe this approach will help our children grow up in the right direction.”

“As a father, talking about sex education with my daughter has always been challenging. This seminar has equipped me with the knowledge to communicate and share better with her.”

“My favorite activity was the ‘Empathy’ activity, because through it my dad and I could understand each other better.”

“Even though I participated in these activities for a short amount of time, I already feel reconnected with my child, because lately I felt that my child and I had been drifting apart. This was wonderful beyond my expectations.

“Before this seminar, I rarely shared sensitive topics with my dad because I felt embarrassed. But after today, I feel more confident and can open up to both my parents.”

So many positive reactions were received at the “Connection and Sharing” seminar held last weekend, an activity under the Scarlet sails project, co-organized by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) and BAC A BANK.

What made this event especially unique was the involvement of young volunteers as hosts, bringing a friendly, warm, and inspiring atmosphere for families on the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day.

In that cozy space, parents and children joined in light yet meaningful games to review important knowledge about sex education, and preventing stigma, discrimination, and violence.

The seminar also provided a chance for parent-child pairs to truly listen and understand each other, from topics as simple as a parent’s favorite color or the celebrity the child admires, to how many close friends the child has, or what the child is most proud of about their parents. These seemingly trivial things, when shared with sincerity, became the glue that deepened family bonds.

Moreover, families enjoyed a joyful afternoon through the creative recycling activity themed “Green creativity - The rebirth journey”. With the guidance of recycling experts, old plastic bottles, worn-out jeans, and even instant noodle wrappers were transformed into colorful plant pots, cute denim bags, keychains, earrings, and lovely necklaces.

Each item not only showcased creativity but also reflected love and responsibility, as proceeds from their sale will be used to help disadvantaged children access courses on gender education, anti-stigma, anti-discrimination, and anti-violence.
