“I find this training course very useful because we were taught how to protect ourselves from many common dangers today such as harassment, cyberbullying, and school violence. Back in class, I’ll definitely share what I’ve learned with my classmates.”
“I think the training course was extremely fun and interesting. I was able to share my questions with the volunteer mentors and teachers, while also learning new knowledge about how to take care of my body and protect myself through fun games.”

These are some of the thoughts that For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) received from children who joined the training class on sexuality education, comprehensive sex education, and child protection. The class was organized by VSF together with BAC A BANK as part of the project "Scarlet sails". On September 20 - 21, 2025, 30 ethnic minority students aged 12 - 14 from Vay Nua Semi-Boarding Primary & Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Tien Phong commune, Phu Tho province) took part in the training. The sessions were led by two experienced trainers: Ms. Tran Hong Diep - Gender and Child Protection Expert, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Chinh - Psychologist, Gender and Reproductive Health Specialist.

Over two days, the students learned in a clear and organized way about basic concepts such as gender and gender identity, psychological and physiological changes during puberty, personal hygiene and self-care during adolescence, contraceptive methods, as well as the signs and prevention of sexually transmitted infections. At the same time, they were also taught skills to recognize and avoid different forms of violence against children, including school bullying, sexual abuse, and online violence. Beyond identifying risks, the training helped students understand consequences and know how to seek support when needed.

All of this was delivered through engaging and interactive methods such as group discussions, games, and role-playing scenarios, allowing the students to both learn and practice while remembering the knowledge naturally and easily.

Along with the two teachers, four young volunteers aged 15 - 17 also joined the training, creating a friendly space where the students felt free and confident to ask questions and share their feelings.

Commenting on the training, Mr. Nguyen Danh Dinh, the school principal, shared: “This is truly a very practical and meaningful program for our students, especially because our school still does not have enough resources to organize deep activities on sexuality education and child protection. I believe that after this training, the students will be more confident in taking care of themselves, know how to avoid risks, and share the knowledge with their friends. On behalf of the school, I sincerely thank For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, BAC A BANK, and the project "Scarlet sails" for bringing such a valuable learning opportunity to the students of Vay Nua.”

The training was funded by money raised from two internal training courses of BAC A BANK, and from 19 families who joined creative parent-child fundraising activities of the Scarlet sails project. The campaign collected a total of VND 40.5 million. With the support of BAC A BANK Hoa Binh Branch, the project chose Vay Nua Semi-Boarding Primary & Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities as the place to run the training.
On this occasion, VSF, in collaboration with BAC A BANK Hoa Binh Branch, also presented 30 study encouragement gifts along with 384 cups of fresh TH true MILK to the school’s students. The total value of the gifts exceeded VND 18 million.
