Sponsoring the construction of gratitude houses for families of war invalids, martyrs in difficult circumstances is one of voluntary activities that BAC A BANK focuses on for many years. This year, BAC A BANK continues to coordinate in implementing this activity with For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF). In the first six months of 2019, the two units funded VND 400 million, built nine gratitude houses in Quang Binh, Hai Phong and Nghe An.
Sponsoring the construction of gratitude houses for families of war invalids, martyrs in difficult circumstances is one of voluntary activities that BAC A BANK focuses on for many years. This year, BAC A BANK continues to coordinate in implementing this activity with For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF). In the first six months of 2019, the two units funded VND 400 million, built nine gratitude houses in Quang Binh, Hai Phong and Nghe An.
In Quang Binh, BAC A BANK and VSF donated two gratitude houses, 50 million VND/house, for family of Ngo Thi Huong in Bac Nghia ward, Dong Hoi city and Ho Van Bung in Truong Son commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province.
The first house was donated to the couple Ngo Thi Huong (72 years old) and Tran Van Ngoan (78 years old) living in Bac Nghia Ward, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province. The couple have been growing vegetables for many years, accumulating and spending every single currency in the hope of remodeling the temporary, rotten house that has been in 40 years. Their family is recognized as a household of difficult circumstances. The husband has mental illness, a hearing loss, he has been treated but occasionally relapsed, since then he lost his ability to work. The wife is a wounded soldier, mainly growing vegetables for her husband to sell in order to earn extra income to cover their daily life. They have 4 children, 3 were married but are also poor, the youngest has neurological diseases.

The second house was donated to Mr. Ho Van Bung's family (32 years old) living in Truong Son commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province. Mr. Bung, his wife and three young children live in temporary housing which is only about 15m2, not shielded. Their family is recognized as a particularly difficult household. Mr. Bung has a hearing lost, his wife is mentally ill and being under treatment. His youngest child was born this year, the three children are very young. The couple worked in the fields but their health was weak, unable to ensure their income for the whole family.
In Hai Phong, BAC A BANK and VSF donated 25 million VND for each house, contribute in the construction of 2 gratitude houses for Mrs. Nguyen Thi Don (born in 1962) in Quoc Tuan commune, An Duong district and Mrs. Doan Thi Thom (born in 1972) in Le Chan district, Hai Phong city.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Don (57 years old), lives in Kieu Ha village, Quoc Tuan commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong city. Mrs. Don has mental illness, she’s unable to walk, lying in bed day by day, now living with her mother who is 83 years old in their dilapidated, peeling, damp 10m2 house. All her personal activities such as eating and drinking, hygiene are taken care of by her mother. Joining hands to contribute funds for the construction with local government and people in the neighborhood, BAC A BANK and VSF hope that the new home will help reduce the difficult circumstances of the two women.
Mrs. Doan Thi Thom (37 years old) and her husband Nguyen Van Cuong (38 years old) were born deaf and mute. The couple live and provide a 87-year-old mother who suffers from paralysis and a daughter in grade 7. Due to deafness, the work situation of the couple is very precarious, unable to ensure financial support for the family. Their old house was degraded, badly damaged but the family was unable to rebuild. Up to now, Thom's new house has been completed and inaugurated after more than 1 month of construction.
The representative of BAC A BANK in Hai Phong directly visited and congratulated Doan Thi Thom's family on the day they moved into the new house.
Besides four gratitude houses donated to difficult circumstances in Quang Binh and Hai Phong, aiming to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, BAC A BANK and VSF also sponsored 250 million VND, support to build 05 gratitude houses for war invalids, relatives of martyrs and Vietnamese heroic mothers through Nghe An Association of families of martyrs and Tien Phong newspaper.
Sharing the vision and enthusiasm in philanthropic activities, BAC A BANK and VSF will continue to donate more gratitude houses this year, in addition to other community development and charity activities.
