On December 4, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper (NTNN)/Dan Viet, and LG Electronics Vietnam visited and donated TVs and gave gifts to families in difficult circumstances and wounded soldiers affected by the recent Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi)

“This Lunar New Year with the new TV, my grandchildren will be much happier when visiting us” shared Mr. Le Cong Trang, a wounded soldier and veteran of the Quang Tri battlefield. He was happy when he saw the new TV replacing the old one that had been broken for over 10 years.

Mr. Le Cong Trang has five children who have all gone to work far from home. In their old wooden house near the mountains, he and his wife live with a few dogs and cats. The over-20-year-old TV in their house had been broken for years, so when they wanted to listen to the news or turn on noise to make the house less lonely, they could only rely on the old radio with the crackling sound. Now that they have received the new TV, they can not hide their great joy, especially when sharing about welcoming their children and grandchildren to gather around the TV during the upcoming Lunar New Year.

Sharing the same happiness with Mr. Trang was the family of Mr. Tran Van Chuyen, another wounded soldier (living in Group 1, Mau A town, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province). During Typhoon No. 3 Yagi, his house was flooded with nearly 4 meters of water, up to the roof. Although his family was able to evacuate in time, all their belongings, including their TV and other electronics, were destroyed by the flood.

Receiving the new TV, Mr. Chuyen emotionally shared: “I am very thankful to the Party and State, organizations, companies, and kind donors who have always cared about helping and supporting families like ours who have suffered damages. I don’t know what to say except thank you.”

Along with donating and installing the TVs, the team also visited and encouraged the families, and gave each household a box of TH true MILK. The gifts were purchased from the remaining funds from the earlier donation campaign organized by VSF to help people recover from the storm.

The TV donation and installation are part of a series of activities by VSF to support the Yen Bai people in rebuilding their lives after the typhoon. Accordingly, VSF, in partnership with NTNN/Dan Viet Newspaper and the Yen Bai Farmers' Association, provided 500 million VND to support 14 households in rebuilding or repair homes damaged by the storm. Additionally, VSF also partnered with LG Vietnam to donate 40 TVs to local people. The total value of the grants is 1 billion VND.
