Exciting knowledge contest for workers in Vinh Phuc Province

On 17th August 2019, the knowledge contest on topics of nutrition, reproductive health, and mental health for workers, was held in Vinh Yen, Vinh Phuc Province. This is an activity within the framework of Phase 3 of “For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese stature” project.

The contest brought many entertaining activities, with the participation of representatives from 5 out of 22 companies participating in the project. It included the three most highlighted activities which were a play called ‘Dangerous Disease’, the knowledge contest, and wearing condom competition.

The ‘Dangerous Disease’ performance was brought to the contest by members of Lam Vien Company with the warning message about the postpartum depression of women.

Through the performance, the characters showed many causes of postpartum depression, including the carelessness of family, crying infants, having lesser time to rest, eat and drink, and so forth. The play reminded the dangers of this disease, in addition to affecting the thinking of women, it could also be the cause of uncontrolled actions, endangering the lives of loved ones, and the patient themselves. Therefore, it is essential to share stories for family members, especially their husbands, in preventing and avoiding the development of the disease. The performance received not only the enthusiastic response of all attendees by the rustic but the equally professional acting, and was a profound wake-up call of human value.

The contest also witnessed the unbeatable competition among 5 teams from 5 companies participating in the knowledge contest. The questions related to nutrition, mental health, and reproductive health, were given by the project experts, summarizing the knowledge communicated during the project. The teams showed their understanding and comprehension of the knowledge. The result was that 3 out of 55 teams correctly answered all questions from the organizers.

The competition among the playing teams only finished after the additional question about reproductive health from Dr. Tran Thi Minh Tam - the project expert. Accordingly, the team from Vina Korea Company excellently answered quickly and fully on modern contraception and the safest contraceptive method. Therefore, the team became the winner in the knowledge contest.

4 teams excited to participate in the wearing condom competition

The final contest that all the teams excited was wearing condom competition. The purpose of the test is to increase workers' awareness of the use of safe contraceptives and effective family planning. Players, in pairs of men and women, needed to complete 2 tasks of wearing a condom on a dildo in 2 different positions. By speed, ingenuity, and showing affection in this game, the team from Lam Vien Company won the highest prize and became the final champion of the competition.

The reports about the results’ project were also presented by industrial zone trade union representatives during the Final Conference of Phase 3 of "For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese stature" project. The parties highly appreciated the effectiveness of the project and expected to implement the project in the next stages.
