On June 21, 2022, the representative of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) - Ms. Tran Hong Diep, Deputy Director of VSF attended the Closing Conference of the Essential Services Package for women and girls subject to violence, phase III in Vietnam.
The Organizing Committee of the Conference is UN Women and the Department of Gender Equality, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. The purpose of the Conference is to evaluate the results achieved from 2016 up until now and make recommendations to improve support services for people suffering from gender-based violence.
Like many other agencies, organizations and individuals participating in the Conference, VSF is a non-profit organization that has been striving to promote activities to protect children and women in Vietnam.
The project "Scarlet Sails" is one such activity, with the desire to connect and mobilize resources in society to jointly support and nurture the dreams of children in extremely difficult circumstances and at risk of sexual abuse. In addition to organizing training activities, awareness raising and skill building workshops for children, caregivers and stakeholders, VSF also connects and mobilizes resources in society to co-sponsor cost of living/tuition fees and vocational training for children.
Another VSF’s effort is to initiate the establishment and undertake the maintenance of the “Gender - Gender equality with young journalists” to strengthen the role of the media in eliminating gender stereotypes and gender norms, and preventing gender-based violence.
3 members of the “Gender - Gender equality with young journalists”, together with the representative of VSF, also attended the conference.
