Recently, Ms. Tran Hong Diep, Director of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), along with over 90 delegates from ministries, international organizations, domestic non-profit organizations, businesses, and financial experts, attended the seminar "Mobilizing financial resources for plastic pollution solutions in Vietnam: From theory to practice." The goal was to discuss and find feasible financial solutions in the context of the 5th Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5) session on the Global Plastics Treaty.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank, and the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP) Vietnam, aiming to discuss and find practical financial solutions to reduce plastic pollution in Vietnam.

At the seminar, Ms. Tran Hong Diep, director of VSF, raised two key issues:

1. How can the informal sector take advantage of investment opportunities and support from existing financial mechanisms, as well as international projects in reducing plastic pollution?

2. What role can youth play in building sustainable financial mechanisms towards a circular economy for plastics in Vietnam?

In response, Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, said: "Youth play a very important role in reducing plastic pollution because they are aware of the stories related to responsible consumption of plastic products. Young people are also a driving force behind innovation in product design, leading to the development of sustainable plastic production and design models."

He also praised the efforts of VSF, especially the Youth for Environment project, in engaging youth in environmental protection over the years.

Since its establishment, VSF has continuously strived for environmental protection through practical projects and activities, such as the Youth for Environment project, the No Plastic Bag Day campaign, and various competitions to raise community awareness, particularly among youth, about recycling and reducing plastic waste.

In particular, VSF is currently a member of the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Technical Group under the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP) in Vietnam, continuing to play an important role in the effort to build a sustainable circular economy in Vietnam.
