The "No Plastic Bag Day" campaign in Vietnam officially launched

In response to International Plastic Bag Free Day (July 3, 2024), the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE) and the Department of Industry and Trade of Hanoi, in coordination with the World Wide Fund for Nature in Vietnam (WWF-Vietnam), the Embassy of the Netherlands, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) through the Vietnam Business Alliance for the Environment (VB4E), TH Group, the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, the Pacific Environment Organization, and other partners, jointly organize the "No Plastic Bag Day in Vietnam" campaign at member supermarkets/retailers of the Alliance. Retailers will reduce disposable plastic bags: The campaign will be held from June 29, 2024, to July 3, 2024, at TH true mart Trang Tien, Central Retail (BigC Thang Long), AEON Long Bien, Lotte Hanoi, and Mega Market Hanoi.

Activities that will take place during the campaign include:

• Short film screenings
• Visits to a painting exhibition on environmental topics
• Instant artistic photo sessions
• Minigames and gifts
• An online contest "Less Plastic Bags, More Life"
