In order to support young reporters to become champions of gender equality, which contributes to raising awareness and changing behavior of the community through press products, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) is looking for young reporters for the training program "Gender - Gender Equality".
Requirements:
Age: under 30 years old
Graduated from university
Currently working full-time or part-time for news agencies and television
Desire to learn and improve knowledge and skills on gender equality and sensitive gender communication (which does not reinforce gender stereotypes)
Quantity: 30 reporters
The training program consists of 3 thematic components:
Training course in Hanoi: expected 7 July- 8 July, 2021
Field trip and discussion in Hai Phong: expected August 11, 2021
Connecting and exchanging information and experiences; consulting and answering questions related to the topic via Zalo group during and after the program
Training topics:
Basic concepts on gender and gender equality
The significance and importance of gender equality and how the mass media are performing their roles
Relevant legal documents and policies of Vietnam
Relevance of international norm, standards and frameworks, as well as the Asian gender-equality context
Some gender issues need to be addressed in Vietnam (domestic violence; gender-based violence, gender inequality in the division of labor; gender inequality in political, economic and social field)
Ways to develop gender-sensitive press products as well as press products that focus on addressing gender issues
Benefits:
Learning and exchanging/sharing with colleagues, experts on gender and gender equality, and developing sensitive gender press products
Reaching out to disadvantaged children and workers in industrial zones/VSF’s projects, connecting with local authorities and having a chance to explore a variety of topics
Become a member of a young champions network in gender equality
Fully funded training costs (tuition fee, study materials, lunch, teabreak, travel expenses during the field trip)
Being awarded certificate of participation from VSF and Asian Gender Trainers' Network Program (AGenT)
NOTE: Trainees who are not currently living in Hanoi must cover their own accommodation and travel expenses during the training period. The field trip in Hai Phong started from Hanoi.

Initiative "Gender - Gender Equality with Young Reporters" of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) surpassed 12 proposals in Asia to receive funding from 2021 AGenT Small Grant Program (SGP) of Asian Gender Trainers' Network Program (AGenT).
With this initiative, through a series of training and field activities, VSF wishes to inspire and support young reporters to become champions in promoting gender equality.
