Launching phase 2 of project “For Mother And Baby - For Vietnamese Stature”

On 28/05/2018, in Thang Long Industrial Zone, Dong Anh, Hanoi, the launching ceremony of phase 2 of the project “For mother and baby - For Vietnamese Stature” was taken place. The project will last for seven months, aiming to improve workers' knowledge and practice on nutrition, reproductive health and mental health.
Representatives of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, Labor Union of the Hanoi Industrial Zone and Export Processing Zone, the sponsor - DKT International Inc., America, the partner - Marie Stopes and union officials, medical officials from 05 industrial zones of project.
In this phase 2, the component relating reproductive health is sponsored by DKT International, Inc. in session of reproductive health. Besides, the project also receives funding from TH Group and the companionship of Marie Stopes. “For mother and baby - For Vietnamese Stature” is implemented by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) and Labor Union of the Hanoi Industrial Zone and Export Processing Zone.
Phase 1 of the project was implemented in 2017, reaching out to 2000 attendances of workers in two industrial zones in Hanoi. This year, the project is expanded with more practical activities. The project will approach about 3,400 attendances of workers in total five industrial zones including three ones in Ha Noi which are Thang Long (Dong Anh Dist.), Quang Minh (Me Linh Dist.), Noi Bai (Soc Son Dist.) and two industrial zones in Bac Ninh province, namely Tien Son (Tu Son Commune) and Que Vo (Que Vo Commune).
Phase 2 of the project has started with a two-day training course (held on 28th and 31st of May) on Practice to provide knowledge and care of nutrition, reproductive health and mental health for 50 trade union staffs and healthcare staffs of enterprises from the five industrial zones. Afterwards, a mobile reproductive health clinic session will be held in June for approximately 800 workers in these industrial zones.
At the same time, 20 communication sessions on proper nutrition, reproductive health and mental health will be organized for workers. The project will finish in December, 2018 by a summary workshop, along with a knowledge competition between 05 teams from the industrial zones.
