“I really like the new restroom. It's closer, cleaner, and the handwashing area smells fresh.”
“Before, we had to walk a long way to use the restroom. When it rained, the path was slippery. Now the restroom is clean and well-equipped, and going there is no longer a worry.”
“I also see signs here teaching us how to wash our hands. My friends and I have learned more ways to protect our health.”
These are the innocent and excited words of Ly Van Hung and his classmates at the primary school in Long Phieng B, Yen Chau District, Son La Province, on the happy day they received 20 newly built restrooms.
In the past, students had to walk a long distance to use restrooms that weren’t up to basic standards, as they couldn’t be placed near the classrooms. On rainy days, the roads became even more slippery and dangerous. The students said that they would avoid using the restroom altogether because of the inconvenience and fear of falling. With the new restrooms, students not only feel more comfortable but also learn proper personal hygiene practices thanks to the instructional signs at the school.
These new restrooms will improve students' health and create a more comfortable learning environment. They also serve as a model for attracting proper social resources to invest in children, contributing to the vision of friendly schools with healthy, active students.
✨ Long Phieng B Primary School is one of 20 schools that celebrated the handover of new restrooms under the "Wishes for Children" program. This achievement is the result of joint efforts by the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), the National Volunteer Center (under the Central Youth Union), TH Group, Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (BAC A BANK), the Son La Youth Union, Yen Chau Youth Union, and the local authorities.
