Signing Project Agreement "For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese stature"

In the afternoon of July 12, 2017, the signing ceremony of the agreement on the implementation of the project "For Mother and Baby - For Vietnamese Stature" took place at Trade Union of Industrial and Export Processing Zone in Hanoi. The project is implemented from July to December 2017.

According to the content of the agreement, the goal set by the project until the end of 2017 is to improve understanding and practice of nutrition, reproductive-sexual health (RSH) and motherhood skills. Workers in Thang Long Industrial Zone (Dong Anh, Hanoi), to improve nutrition situation during pregnancy and infant rasing period, to improve the quality of life for women workers and their children. cousin, thereby contributing to the common goal of the nation to improve the stature and physical strength of the Vietnamese.

The activities of the project include training to improve the capacity of trade union officials and health workers to develop and implement activities to support workers to boost their health and motherhood skills; communication for female workers on proper nutritional practices, reproductive-sexual healthcare and reproductive health. The project also provides leaflets to disseminate relevant knowledge.

The total budget of the project is over 280 million VND, funded by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation. It is continuing to call for interest and financial contributions from other businesses and development organizations. In particular, through For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, TH Group sponsors TH True Milk, equivalent to 62 million VND, as a gift to attendees of communication sessions.

Mr. Dinh Quoc Toan– President of Trade Union of Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones and Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang – Director of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation believe that the project will bring many effective results to the workers.  

 

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Trang - Director of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) said: "As a social - charitable and non-profit foundation, VSF in cooperation with Trade Union of Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zone comes from the desire to contribute to the implementation of national strategies and action plans on nutrition and sustainable development. One of the outstanding advantages of the project is that enterprises are entitled to benefit from communication to improve knowledge of nutrition and health care for female workers and expand this to a prioritized and regular activity”.

Mr. Dinh Quoc Toan, Chairman of Trade Union of the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zone, said: "We believe the cooperation will bring many good results to the workers. Hanoi has more than 300 grassroots trade unions, out of a total of 140,000 workers, thereby the replication of the project is very necessary in order to take care of material and the spirit benefits of the workers, especially female workers. 

The signing ceremony marked a good starting point for the cooperation between For Vietnamese Stature Foundation and Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zone. The success of this project will be the basis for the two parties to implement similar projects in the coming years.
