“The Scarlet sails project aspires to provide children with a ‘shield’ of essential skills to help them better understand and love themselves, recognize and prevent abuse, and know how to exercise their rights and voices in difficult real-life situations.” - Ms. Tran Huong Giang, Director of Human Resources at BAC A BANK, representative of the organizing committee of the Scarlet sails project.

The Scarlet sails project, jointly organized by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) and BAC A BANK, aims to protect and promote children's rights through comprehensive life skills training programs. These sessions focus on essential topics, including comprehensive sexuality education and prevention of stigma, discrimination, and violence against children.

More than just equipping children with self-defense skills, Scarlet sails strives to build self-confidence, helping children learn to use their voices and exercise their rights appropriately. The project also helps them recognize the root causes of pressing social issues such as violence, abuse, and discrimination, thereby nurturing critical thinking and empathy.

Nguyen Minh Tri, a participant in one of the training sessions, shared:

“I once witnessed a classmate being bullied. Back then, I hadn’t taken part in any training, so I felt nervous and didn’t dare to intervene. I think if I could go back to that moment, I would bravely seek help from a trusted adult.”

It is hoped that through sessions like these, children can come to realize the power of their voice and learn to stand together to stay away from potential dangers in society.

A short documentary about two of the Scarlet sails training sessions was filmed and aired by VTV1 on the program “Vì Tầm Vóc Việt” (For Vietnamese Stature). We invite you to follow this small but meaningful journey in the video below!
