The Project in healthcare comes to Hai Phong’s labors

From March 2020, 20 companies’ labors in two industrial zones which are VSIP and Nam Cau Ken within 10 districts in Hai Phong will be equipped with knowledge about health care at the workplace.
This is an activity in phase 4, "For mother and baby - For Vietnamese stature" project organized by Vietnam For Stature Foundation, in collaboration with Hai Phong Women Union. Within 9 months, there are many communication sessions in reproductive health, mental health, and nutrition during pregnancy, which will be conducted directly to each participating individual.
The workers will be provided with the best conditions to participate in 2 training sessions for medical staff and Trade Union officials, 20 communications sessions for labors and 1 knowledge competition with the support of their company’s Trade Union. The training, communications are opportunities for them to have comprehensive consultancy by project’s experts, obstetricians, psychologists, and nutritionists.

Ms. Pham Hai Yen, Member of Hai Phong People’s Committee, Chairwomen of Hai Phong Women's Union highly appreciated the cooperation of the parties in the implementation of the project; confirming the new more effective and impressive way of the project will help workers in Hai Phong, especially female workers have access to knowledge on health care for better future generations, in the context of limited time.
The first three phases of the project were implemented in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, and Vinh Phuc industrial zones. It achieved remarkable results: Nearly 10,000 labors improved their healthcare knowledge and skills for women of reproductive age through 56 communication sessions; 160 medical staff, Trade Union officials from companies in the project area were trained in knowledge and skills to provide reproductive healthcare - safe sex, mental health, and nutrition for women of reproductive age as well as their children in the first 1,000 days of life; More than 1,500 female workers benefited from free mobile reproductive health clinics.
Workers received healthcare gifts
In the 4th year of the project, the parties expect to have at least 3,170 people benefited from the knowledge-raising communications and training sessions to gain the most comprehensive view on health care for themselves, relatives, family, and for a healthy future generation. Through health and family planning gifts, the project also wants workers to access prestigious and quality products on the market. In addition, the parties will continue to discuss to organize a counseling and reproductive health examination for 800 female workers under the project.
Project experts will directly advise workers on application mobile named Newchoice Reminder, which has also officially launched on the same day.
Officially launched with the project, the mobile contraceptive application called Newchoice Reminder will be an effective assistant for all participating labors during phase 3. It not only reminds workers to use birth control pills on time during busy schedules daily, but also give them the opportunity to interact with experts for advising, answering questions about health, psychology, family planning through the utility application above.
The project "For mother and baby - For Vietnamese Stature Foundation" phase 4 has officially started.

As planned, the project will last for 9 months. The first training session will start from March 2020 for medical staff, Trade Union officials of the companies participating in the project. The project is expected to be a prerequisite for preparing pregnant and nourishing healthy babies, stabilizes the family finances, ensures occupational health in Hai Phong and contributes to the development of the country.
