On October 30, 2021, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) will hold a seminar for the participants of the "Gender and Gender Equality with Young Journalists and Communications Officers" program.
At the seminar, participants will share the practical experiences, the challenges and difficulties in creating gender-sensitive media and press products. Also, participants will have the opportunity to share their opinions and perspectives with two guest speakers:
1. Mr. Dinh Duc Hoang - Deputy General Director of UNESCO Vietnam Center of Information, former Senior Editor of VnExpress.
Mr. Duc Hoang is an expert with years of experience in creating press products and multimedia marketing.
Mr. Hoang has held various management positions at major press agencies such as Lao Động (Labour) Newspaper, VnExpress, and VTVCab. In addition, he is also the content consultant for VTC and Viettel Media. Many products created by Mr. Hoang in the field of journalism, which include documentaries, reportage articles, opinion articles, talk shows, etc., have resonated well with the public. Some of the prominent products are the Perspective section (VnExpress) or the documentary “Mom, I’m back” (VTC, Golden Kite Award 2016).
The media campaigns carried out by Mr. Hoang often require great efforts to find the real life stories. He has searched for cancer ambassadors to hear their stories; for people who have changed their lives thanks to tourism; or for showbiz stars to talk about fears for the first time.
Mr. Duc Hoang is also known as the advisor for many different international organizations in Vietnam. He has worked with Oxfam, World Bank, CARE International in communication campaigns related to the livelihoods of the poor, women’s and ethnic minorities’ rights in Vietnam. There are characters who have been found by Mr. Hoang in Vietnam that later became the symbol for global issues and appeared at the Davos World Economic Forum.
2. Ms. Tran Hong Diep - Deputy Director of the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, 20 years of work experience on gender and gender equality
Ms. Diep is the Deputy Director of For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF). She is responsible for developing and coordinating the implementation of the long-term and short-term strategies of VSF. At the same time, she is VSF's gender expert and directly run gender projects and gender training courses.

The “Gender and Gender Equality with Young Journalists and Communications Officers” initiative of the VSF has surpassed 12 other proposals in Asia to receive the funding of the year 2021 from the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (KIGEPE). The initiative aims to help a group of young journalists and communications officers become the gender champion, thereby contributing to raising public awareness and changing behaviors of the whole community through their press and communications products.
