On Earth Day 2020, Green Eyes - the belonged team to the project "Youth for Environment" has created a clip analyzing the problem of waste and environmental impacts. The song called "Two million tons of garbage" is written new lyrics based on the original song "Two million years" of Den Vau - one of the favored rappers of the young generation.
The song "Two million tons of trash" reaches more than 14,000 people and nearly 1,200 interactions on Mat Xanh (Green Eyes) fanpage
"I look at myself in the mirror, why I can see the physique, but cannot see the consciousness"
Have you ever thrown away a piece of paper or a candy wrap unconsciously in the wrong place? And then, you justify yourselves as "just this time" or "forgot", or "inadvertent"? This is an action we often see anytime, anywhere, and at any age. Therefore, who are the people who need to "awaken" in the community? The answer is not necessarily the authorities, the environmental staff, but also young people who are enthusiastic and willing to change, raising awareness for the community about waste pollution.
The song shows the increase of waste worldwide. It does not only affects humans directly but also impacts the ecosystem in a dangerous way, such as animals affected by large landfills, plant protection products, the situation of widespread rubbish at sea harmful to marine creatures, and so forth. Besides, recognizing the thoughtful consequences of waste pollution, the representative of the young generation has become the pioneers of environmental protection campaigns.
Youth for Environment group called Green Eyes
Founded in April 2020, the first 8 members of Green Eyes are students with diverse specialties (journalism, communication, environment, hotel management, law, and so on). In spite of having various backgrounds, they have the same passion for the environment. As planned, the team will grow to 200 members this year.
Explaining the team's name, Mai Anh Van - a student at National Economics University, and the first team leader of the group shared: “We want to give a meaningful name and also show the spirit of the team. The eyes represent the observation and objective views of the younger generation on environmental issues. Green is the green color of plants, and clean environment. Green Eyes means that young people will be aware of environmental problems and also the ones who will come up with solutions to improve the environment.”
