For the first time participating in a training course on gender equality and domestic violence prevention, 30 women in Nghaa Lam commune, Nghe An province, had the opportunity to reflect on stories once considered “just a normal part of everyday life” from a different perspective.

Instead of traditional lectures, the training program used a variety of engaging activities such as interactive games, group discussions, scenario-based problem solving, and real-life experience sharing. Through these activities, participants gradually gained a deeper understanding of concepts, including gender stereotypes, gender bias, gender inequality, different forms of domestic violence, coping skills for violent situations, and safety planning, while showing highly active participation throughout the program. The participants also worked together to discuss solutions and role-play real-life situations, making the knowledge more relatable and easier to apply in everyday life.

Ms. Huyen, a participant in the training, shared:

“I used to think domestic violence only meant physical abuse or causing injuries. After this workshop, I learned that forcing a wife to hand over money is also a form of violence - economic violence - along with psychological and sexual violence. I will share what I learned today with other women around me so we can better understand ways to prevent and respond to violence.”

The training course “Gender equality in relation to household economic development,” organized by For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), was held for 30 women receiving livelihood support in Nghaa Lam commune. The activity not only helped raise awareness but also empowered women with greater confidence to proactively protect themselves, participate in household economic development, and build more sustainable lives

Previously, on the morning of May 13, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) and TH Group presented VND 300 million in livelihood loans to 30 disadvantaged women in the local community. The funding came from the Let’s Orange campaign 2025, jointly implemented by VSF, TH Group, BAC A BANK, and the TH School System.
