VSF disburses loans to 15 women in difficult circumstances in Muong Ang District, Dien Bien Province

On February 26, 2024, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) through the Community Development Fund (FCD) and the Women's Union of Ang Nua commune, Muong Ang district, Dien Bien province disbursed loans to 15 women in difficult circumstances. These women are integral members of the "Sisters’ Coffee" model in Muong Ang district. The total disbursement amounted to 300 million VND, aimed at empowering these women and supporting their endeavors within the community.
This marks a significant milestone as the first 300 million VND disbursed from the Livelihood Support Fund for ethnic minority women in difficult circumstances. The funds were garnered through the collaborative efforts of the "Let’s Orange with TH" and "Let’s Orange with BAC A BANK" campaigns in 2023. The total amount of money raised from this campaign is 601,679,718 VND.
In the first phase, a total of 15 women have been selected as recipients of the loans. The majority of these women are actively engaged in agricultural production, with a particular emphasis on coffee cultivation. Additionally, there is one member who intends to utilize the capital for livestock raising and retail trade.
On the day of receiving the capital, the women expressed profound excitement and gratitude. "This loan will help us have more expenses to buy fertilizer and renovate the coffee fields. We hope that the coffee will reduce pests and diseases and improve the quality of the coffee" - shared by Ms. Tong Thi Huong, a member of the coffee model.
Ms. Lo Thi Tien, another member of the coffee sister model, said: "With this capital, I will work with the production team to renovate the facilities, buy more drying racks, and repair the coffee dryer. To prepare for the 2024 crop, we will focus on purchasing and producing coffee in larger quantities and improving production quality, and we will also purchase better quantity and quality of coffee from satellite households."
Earlier, TH Group and BAC A BANK made significant contributions to the Livelihood Support Fund.
