Parents, have you ever wondered: What is my child proud of? What do they think of themselves? How do they perceive the world around them?

“I am proud of being myself.”

“I am proud because I  don’t associate with those who bully others.”

“I am proud because I am my  parents’ child.”

These are the heartfelt and pride-filled words shared by young participants during a training session on preventing stigma, discrimination and violence against children in the Scarlet Sails project.

Through an activity called “The Tree of Pride”, the participants were able to truly listen to themselves, explore and name the values that make them proud – even the smallest ones. This exercise helped these participants build confidence, deepen self-understanding, and appreciate their positive qualities. In turn, it encourages healthy development and empowers them to communicate and act with greater confidence and proactiveness.

Parents, if you want to know more about what your child is proud of and better understand their thoughts, frustrations, and feelings, then the “Connect and Share” seminar is a unique opportunity to accompany your child on that journey.

The programme is within the “Scarlet Sails” project, which VSF collaborated with BAC A BANK to organize.
