A new chapter for a Mong ethnic girl through community support

Recently, For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), in collaboration with Anh Duong House Dien Bien and the Dien Bien Fund for Community Development (FCD), provided the March living expense support to the guardian of Ho Thi Mai* - an 11-year-old Mong ethnic girl in Dien Bien. This is the first installment of a one-year sponsorship program for her.

Accordingly, from March 2026 to February 2027, VSF and its partners will sponsor Mai with a monthly allowance of 1,000,000 VND.

This support is made possible by the collective effort of 6 individual and organizational donors through a fundraising campaign launched by VSF. A total of 12 million VND was successfully raised to support Mai.

At the age of 11, Mai is embracing a new beginning. This support will provide her family with better conditions to cover essential needs such as food, clothing and school supplies. As a result, her life is gradually stabilizing and Mai now has more opportunities for self-study while waiting to return to school. Along with the financial aid, she is also supported by Anh Duong House Dien Bien and FCD through psychological and legal counseling, step by step stabilizing her life and rebuilding her faith in the future.

A representative of her family expressed deep gratitude for the companionship of VSF, FCD, Anh Duong House Dien Bien and the donors. This support has helped Mai’s life become more stable and provided hope for the journey ahead.

The community’s contribution is not only a material support but also a source of encouragement for Mai to grow up with confidence and look toward a brighter future.
